Get ready to Get Your Que On at the 2nd Annual Smoke-A-Palooza 2008. September 20th will be the date of this years event. Last year was a tremendous success as we raised nearly $3000 towards Living Hope International's poor and homeless ministry. We should have good weather in September and we look forward to your participation to raise awareness of the homeless in our city and the poor internationally.
On September 20th teams will again compete for the the Title of Grand Champion at the 2nd Annual Benefit BBQ Competition, Smoke-A-Palooza 2008. The contest is open to all BBQ teams. All proceeds to benefit the poor and homeless locally and internationally through Living Hope International, a local 501(c)(3) organization serving in St. Louis, India and Africa.
Teams will compete for the Smoke-A-Palooza 1st Place Grand Champion Trophy. We have changed the competition this year. We will have 4 categories for the competition, Chicken, Ribs, Pork Butt and Brisket. Teams can enter any or all of the categories. Teams will bring their own meat for the competition. This years event will begin Friday evening and the competition will begin Saturday morning. Judging will be a 1:00 PM. The awards ceremony will be at 3:30 PM.
There will be live music, food and drink during the event. There will be Competition Quality BBQ for sale to the public from an Official Smoke-A-Palooza BBQ Vendor at 12:00 PM and the event will go into the early evening. We will have Ribs, Pork Steaks, Chicken, Burgers & Hot Dogs on the menu this year, with plenty of sides as well. There will vendor booths available and much more.
